Welcome to continuing studies admissions. Continuing Studies is the program especially designed for adult students, veterans, active duty military and reservists who desire to begin or complete a bachelor’s degree, undergraduate certificate, earn a second bachelor’s degree in another field, or simply take courses for personal enrichment.
Congratulations on deciding to begin or complete your education, and thank you for applying. These pages are designed to help you navigate through the admissions process and provide resources and helpful information that you will need along the way. In the near future, you will be able to log-in and track your progress – see which transcripts, test scores and other documents that we’ve received, anytime, day or night. In general, the Continuing Studies admission process currently includes:
  1. Completion of the online application
  2. Receipt of official copies of transcripts from all colleges / universities previously attended, if you’ve earned at least 20 semester hours of college credit. If you’ve earned less than 20 credit hours of college credit, then in addition to college transcripts, if applicable, an official copy of your high school transcript or GED is required.
  3. The personal statement, which is included in the application or can be emailed separately, should outline why you would like to attend SHC, the area you would like to study, and any academic strengths and weaknesses you may have. If you’ve previously attended college and your grade point average was below a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, you may also want to explain what has changed and why you think you can be a successful student now.
